Martin dresses like someone who shops in three places at once: a vintage rail, a skate shop and a runway archive. Here is what he actually wears, starting with the shoe collection he walked through on Weverse live, then the polos, the one t-shirt he keeps going back to, and the outfit he wore on stage in Tokyo.

The short answer

Martin wears vintage and second hand pieces mixed with designer: 90s band tees, Ralph Lauren rugby polos, military details, flared denim, and a sneaker collection that runs from Balmain and Dolce & Gabbana to a very rare pair of Maison Margiela Replicas covered in crushed Swarovski crystal. Most of his off duty clothes are old. Most of his stage clothes are new and Japanese or Korean.

Martin's sneaker collection, shown on Weverse live

Juhoon and Martin went on Weverse live together and it turned into a shoe tour. Martin picked up pair after pair for the camera, and COERs paused, screenshotted and identified almost all of them. Six pairs got a good look.

The six pairs he held up on the live, in the order he showed them.

This is what fans matched them to. Nothing here is official, it is COERs zooming in on logos, stitching and soles, but the IDs line up well.

The rare pair: Maison Margiela crushed crystal Replicas

The black sneakers with the scattered sparkle are the ones worth stopping on. They are Maison Martin Margiela Replicas, the silhouette the house built on an old German army trainer, from the 2016 spring and summer collection, with crushed crystal set all over the upper. They were expensive when they came out, they were not made in big numbers, and they are close to impossible to find now in a wearable size. If you ever see a pair on a resale site, that is why the price looks like a typo.

It is also a very Martin choice. The Replica is a quiet shoe, a plain trainer copied from a military original, and the version he owns is the one covered in crystal.

So what is Martin's style?

Two wardrobes, and they barely overlap.

Off duty he wears old clothes: 90s graphic tees, rugby polos, worn caps, loose denim, tank tops in summer. Nothing matches on purpose. The pieces look lived in because most of them are second hand, and he repeats his favourites instead of rotating them out.

On stage and at schedules he goes the other way: sheer and mesh layers, leather, hardware, military details, flares, and Japanese and Korean labels that are big in the fashion internet but not on the high street.

The brands that have shown up on him so far:

The vintage polos

Martin turns up at schedule after schedule in an old Ralph Lauren rugby shirt. Big collar, big number on the chest, a long sleeve tee layered underneath, belt with studs. It is the most repeated look he has.

You can dress like this without a stylist

This is the cheapest part of his wardrobe to copy, because the good ones are all second hand. Vintage rugby polos turn up at fair prices on eBay, Depop and Vinted. Search for "vintage Polo Ralph Lauren rugby", go one or two sizes up for the boxy fit, and read the measurements instead of the size label, because 90s sizing is not today's sizing.

The 90s Tony Bennett t-shirt he will not retire

There is one t-shirt he wears more than any piece of clothing he owns: a vintage 90s Tony Bennett tee, black, with a red heart and "I left my heart in San Francisco" across the front. It has shown up on schedules, and it has shown up on his own time, including a day out in Paris with the members by the river, with the Eiffel Tower right there behind them.

Paris, the Seine, the Eiffel Tower, and the Tony Bennett tee again.

A 90s music tee for a singer nobody in the group is old enough to have seen live, worn until it is soft. That is the whole idea of his off duty wardrobe in one piece of clothing, and it is honestly a cool shirt. If you want one, search "vintage 90s Tony Bennett t-shirt" on the same three sites. Single stitch on the sleeve hem is the usual sign the tee really is that old.

The Tokyo INKIGAYO stage outfit

For the Tokyo Inkigayo live, the styling went full designer.

What he wore

  1. Jean Paul Gaultier printed mesh sleeveless top, the piece doing all the work under the jacket.
  2. PUMA x MIHARA YASUHIRO nylon jacket in blue, from the collaboration between PUMA and the Japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro.
  3. POG service SYSTEM FLARE JEAN (ver.2), a Korean label, black flared denim with military detailing. It is on the brand's own site at pogservice.co.kr for ₩243,000. Version 2 changed the pattern, moved the knee line up by six centimetres and uses a heavy Kaihara black denim.

Questions COERs keep asking

What shoes does Martin from CORTIS wear?

On the Weverse live with Juhoon he showed Maison Martin Margiela crystal Replicas, Dolce & Gabbana red patent high tops, Balmain white leather high tops, Giuseppe Zanotti croc boots, Olly Shinder x Magnum boots and the all black Balenciaga x adidas Stan Smith.

What are Martin's rare Maison Margiela sneakers?

They are the 2016SS Replica sneakers covered in crushed Swarovski crystal. The Replica is Margiela's copy of a German army trainer, and this version is a limited seasonal one, so pairs almost never come up for resale.

What brands does Martin of CORTIS wear?

Maison Margiela, Balmain, Balenciaga x adidas, Dolce & Gabbana, Giuseppe Zanotti, Olly Shinder x Magnum, Jean Paul Gaultier, PUMA x MIHARA YASUHIRO, POG service, and a lot of vintage Polo Ralph Lauren.

Where can I buy the vintage polos and tees Martin wears?

eBay, Depop and Vinted. Search "vintage Polo Ralph Lauren rugby" for the polos and "vintage 90s Tony Bennett t-shirt" for the tee. Size up, and read measurements rather than the label.

What did Martin wear at Inkigayo in Tokyo?

A Jean Paul Gaultier printed mesh sleeveless top, a blue PUMA x MIHARA YASUHIRO nylon jacket, and POG service SYSTEM FLARE JEAN (ver.2).

The point of it

Martin's clothes are not expensive on purpose and they are not cheap on purpose. An old rugby shirt from a car boot rail and a crystal Margiela sneaker get worn with the same face. That mix is the style, and it is why his fits are fun to track: half of it you could find this weekend for the price of lunch, and half of it has not been in a shop since 2016.

More Martin: his member page, what he has been listening to lately, and you can put him on your own COER ID card.
