Martin CORTIS Weverse Live 261011: He Is a Cat Person Now, and He Missed the Dominic Fike Show

Martin of CORTIS laughing during his Weverse live on 11 October 2026

Back on Weverse after a long time away, and in a talking mood.

Martin went live on 11 October 2026 after being gone for a while, and then did not stop. He changed his answer about dogs, explained why sunrise beats sunset, admitted he missed the Dominic Fike concert, dubbed Peppa Pig, and recommended more songs in one sitting than he normally does in a year.

The short answer

He is a cat person now, which is new. He did not go to the Dominic Fike show because he was working on the album, so Keonho went alone and reported back. He wants to make an album in Paris. He has seen The Weeknd once, at SoFi Stadium. His trousers are held together with three safety pins. And he read out a comment about his acne and told the person off, gently.

He also recommended eleven songs and an album, which is the most he has ever done at once. They are all in songs recommended by Martin, with a play button on each one.

He is a cat person now. A year ago he said dogs.

The answer that changed

“Do you like cats?” “Yeah. I’m a cat person. I mean, I love dogs too, but like, I feel like cats are just something different to me.”

Which would be unremarkable except for one thing: a year ago his official profile said his favourite animal was a dog. In writing.

A year ago. Favourite animal: dog. Case closed, apparently not.

Sunrise over sunset, and why

The best thing he said all night

Someone asked sunrise or sunset. He treated it like a proper debate and ended up explaining his whole working life by accident.

“Me personally, I like the start of the day. You know, just the feeling that I got a lot more hours. Sunset, it’s more like you know that the dawn will come, you got to go to bed, today is over, you got nothing more to do. Your friends are all asleep, you can’t do anything, you got nothing to do outside because all the stores are closed, all the restaurants are closed.” “But sunrise is more like the day starting and you’re like, wow. It feels like the song NANI when it opens up: wake up in the morning, ohayooo. You can see the sunrise like, yay! And it just hypes you up for the day.” “Or sometimes when you see the sun coming up while you’re working so long and you spent the whole night working. Usually I work on music, so I work on music till the sun’s up and it gives me like one more boost, it gives me a punch in the face like, wow, whoa. The sun is up now, I can go further, I can go for a couple more hours and go to bed.”

He is not describing a preference. He is describing what it looks like when you have been up all night making a record and the window goes orange.

And what LA mornings are like

Asked how Los Angeles is, he said he often stays up late, that the mornings are cold enough that the windows fog up, and that he likes watching the light come in through the gaps.

He did not go to the Dominic Fike concert

This one corrects the record

Martin said he really, really wanted to go and could not, because he was busy working on the album. Keonho went on his own. Afterwards Keonho told him every little detail about how it went, and Martin said he was still thankful that at least Keonho got to experience it.

So the version going round that Martin took him and stood next to him all night is not what happened. We had it that way on this site too, and that post is now corrected.

The Weeknd, SoFi Stadium, and the thought he had there

“I have to stand on that stage someday”

“For The Weeknd concert, I wasn’t an adult yet, so I couldn’t go. But I saw him once back then in LA. It was fun. It was the one he did at SoFi Stadium.” “After watching his performance and Beyoncé’s performance, I had the thought, I have to stand on that stage someday.”

The funny parts

He swore mid song and tried to catch it

He was singing, the word came out, and you can watch him physically try to put it back in.

One more from the live

He dubbed Peppa Pig

With Juhoon and Seonghyeon. They also did the Minions, but that recording is on Juhoon’s phone, which means it does not exist until Juhoon decides it does.

And he finally did the Ain’t in LA challenge

The one the other three filmed at the Airbnb while he was asleep.

The earrings

He showed off the big hoop earrings he was wearing and then said, simply, “queen”.

And a bit of singing

Someone told him he had acne

He read it out and answered properly

“You got acne. Everyone gets it. How could you not get it when you’re human, right? Honestly, when you work and live hard, it’s normal that you can get some few skin breakouts.” “There’s no need to go out of your way to point that out, you know. It’s embarrassing.”

Not angry. Just done with it.

An album made in Paris

A thought he keeps having

He said he does sometimes think about making an album in Paris, or somewhere else nice in Europe.

Where the others were

James

“Where is James?” “He is working. I think he is taking class or something.”

He also forgot the date, which meant he did not realise James’s birthday is three days away. He thanked the chat for the reminder and promised he will not miss it.

Seonghyeon

“Where’s Sean?” “He just left 30 minutes ago after finishing working on music. I don’t know what he’s up to now. Maybe he’s back to working on music.”

Martin had come straight from a production session with him.

The fit check, held together with safety pins

He showed what he was wearing

Someone asked, so he stood up and went through it.

The detail everyone caught: his trousers are torn at the leg, and he has fixed them with three safety pins. Not a styling choice from a rail, just a man who likes his trousers and is not going to stop wearing them over a hole.

Which is exactly the thing described at length in what Martin wears: second hand, repeated, worn until it breaks and then worn some more.

He was supposed to link up with diamond* and Tezzus

A session that did not happen

He mentioned he was meant to meet up with diamond* and Tezzus.

Not strangers to this site, either. bada bing, bada bØØm by diamond* and Tezzus is already in what CORTIS listen to, and both of them are on Cha Ney Ney, which is one of the six songs James played on his own live.

Everything else, in a list

  • He recommends kimchi jjigae with beef short ribs, because he liked eating that in America.
  • Yesterday he and Juhoon ate gopchang and daechang.
  • He went back to his parents’ house and ate meat his mum had bought for him.
  • Someone commented “I miss you” and he answered, “I should’ve come earlier huh.”
  • Asked whether English or Korean is more comfortable: it depends on the situation. Korean feels more comfortable in private, English in formal settings. With friends or with COERs he would rather speak Korean, but plenty of COERs are more comfortable in English, so either is fine by him.
  • NANI release date? “Don’t know. We don’t know either. I don’t know.”

And then he recommended eleven songs

“Today I really poured it all out. The people who came to the live broadcast today are really so lucky, right? Normally I don’t recommend this many songs all at once.”
  • Guitar — Natanya
  • joy n pride freestyle — sahn (SoundCloud only)
  • yuma — sahn
  • Life 1 — Quadeca (the whole album)
  • kiss me slow this time — Love Spells
  • Moron — Futa Ree
  • MORON — Steve Lacy (unreleased)
  • Luv Drunk (출출노래) — iKeda
  • THRONE — backfromparadise
  • SAS — Dylan Thom
  • Margiela Coat (feat. Nosaint) — R8

Listen to them

Every one of these, plus the other fifty one songs Martin has recommended over the years, is on songs recommended by Martin of CORTIS, with a Spotify player on each track.

What he ate in Singapore

Mocha pork ribs and chilli crab

“Mocha pork ribs. It was an interesting taste, but it was tasty.” “I also ate chilli crab. I think it was the tastiest crab I had eaten recently.”

Which, paired with the kimchi jjigae with beef short ribs further up, means a decent chunk of this live was Martin reviewing meals.

And while he was there, the F1 stage

Not from the live, but it is the same trip and it is worth your time.
